Victoria’s practice focuses on planning, environmental and local government law. She primarily advises local councils and private clients on a wide range of matters including the interpretation of planning instruments, the assessment of development applications, Crown land management issues, as well as the operation of pollution and biodiversity legislation. Victoria’s experience extends to litigious matters, assisting local councils and private clients with civil and criminal matters in the NSW Land and Environment Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
Victoria advises local councils on a range of administrative law issues, including access to government information and the delegation of council functions. She is well-versed in the compulsory acquisitions process and provides advice regarding the notification and gazettal procedure, as well as issues regarding the determination of compensation.
Victoria joined BAL Lawyers in May 2017, was admitted to practice in the ACT Supreme Court in 2018 and was promoted to Associate in July 2020. Victoria received the University of Canberra Medal for the Faculty of Business, Government and Law and the ACT Supreme Court Judges Prize. Victoria also received a number of academic prizes throughout her studies, including the BAL Lawyers Environmental and Planning Law Prize.
