Rebecca specialises in employment law in both the public and private sector. Rebecca is an effective advocate for her clients, always focussing on long term legal strategies and practical outcomes. Rebecca assists employees with a wide variety of matters involving unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination, breach of contract, breach of enterprise agreement, underpayment, and misconduct proceedings (Public Service Code of Conduct allegations and professional misconduct matters). Rebecca’s experience acting for employees has given her the tools to advise employers on effective strategies to deal with difficult and/or litigious employees. Rebecca also has a special interest in defamation law and has experience in that area.
Rebecca graduated from the ANU in July 2016 with first class honours in Law. She joined BAL Lawyers immediately afterwards as a law graduate and was subsequently admitted to legal practice in ACT in 2017. She was promoted to the role of Senior Associate in July 2022. In 2023 and 2024 Rebecca returned to the ANU as the lecturer for Labour Law.
