At BAL Lawyers’ HR Breakfast Club event on Friday 20 February 2026, Legal Director John Wilson led an engaging discussion regarding managing workplace misconduct.
John was able to draw attendees into consideration of the practical steps to be taken by employers to investigate and then determine a result in relation to workplace conduct allegations by reference to his extensive experience and by highlighting how those steps had impacted legal outcomes in some of his recent matters.
John spoke about the need to keep a “weather eye” on the prospect of future scrutiny of decision making by employers regarding misconduct allegations. He explained the real and significant potential impacts for employers who do not manage the process effectively and who potentially leave themselves open to legal claims from disgruntled current or former employees.
Join us again at our HR Breakfast Club event in March when Special Counsel Ash Borg will address the fundamentals of employment contracts for HR managers and some common pitfalls for employers to avoid when drafting or in entering into such contracts. We hope to see both our regular attendees and some new faces at our forthcoming HR Breakfast Club event.
