Employment Law & Investigations
We protect your interests when workplace issues arise
We help employers and employees navigate workplace disputes, conduct proper investigations, and ensure compliance with employment law. Practical advice that resolves issues and protects your interests.
Our Employment Law & Investigations team works with employees facing workplace issues, employers managing complex workplace matters, and NSW Local Government on HR and investigations. Led by Legal Director John Wilson, NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Employment and Industrial Law, we provide clear advice grounded in decades of experience.
Workplace problems can be deeply personal, affecting your career, family, and wellbeing. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, unfair dismissal, and contract disputes all require careful handling. We help you understand your rights under your employment contract, Modern Award, or Enterprise Agreement, and how the Fair Work Act applies. We pursue fair outcomes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
Employment law sits across every HR decision, whether you are writing a contract, managing underperformance, or navigating a restructure. We draft contracts and policies that align with Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements. When performance or misconduct issues arise, we guide you through the process while maintaining compliance. We also advise on redundancies, surveillance, and privacy matters.
Allegations of misconduct, bullying, harassment, or breaches of conduct codes require proper investigation to ensure procedural fairness and defensible outcomes. We conduct independent workplace investigations across all sectors, including local government. Our investigations are thorough, meet the procedural and regulatory requirements that apply, and provide clear findings that protect organisations from legal challenge.
NSW Local Councils and Joint Organisations operate within a regulatory framework that few firms understand in depth. Our practice is led by Accredited Specialists in Employment and Industrial Law with decades of experience across the Local Government Act, Model Code of Conduct, and Workplace Investigations Guidelines. We act as Code of Conduct Reviewers and Council-appointed investigators across the state.
