Peter joined the Litigation team in February 2021 after working in medical negligence litigation and criminal litigation. He was admitted to the High Court of Australia in 2021 following his admission to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory in 2020. His admissions follow his graduation from the Australian National University with a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2020 and a Juris Doctor in 2019.
Before becoming a lawyer, Peter was an Australian-trained doctor and cardiothoracic surgeon. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He also holds a Master of Surgical Education from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Academy of Surgical Educators. He has lectured, published, and presented locally and internationally.
Peter now combines his medical and legal experience in advising clients and legal practitioners on medical negligence matters. He has worked and continues to work on complex medical negligence matters in Australian and foreign jurisdictions. He has also advised clients and legal practitioners in other practice areas on medical, healthcare and forensic matters.
