Germaine is a skilled and experienced property lawyer with over 17 years’ experience in the ACT and NSW. Her work has encompassed residential and commercial real estate transactions with a particular focus on property development and off the plan projects, both unit title complexes and community title precincts. Germaine also has experience working with landlord and tenant leasing clients, ensuring leasing arrangements have commercially workable clauses for both parties. Most recently, Germaine is enjoying giving advice to our ageing community, as they venture into purchasing units in Retirement Villages, and equip themselves with all the extra care these schemes can offer.
Over the course of her career, Germaine has worked alongside property professionals including development managers, real estate agents, strata managers, builders, surveyors and government authorities. Her knowledge and understanding of complex property matters gives her a solid foundation on which to give advice and offer pragmatic solutions for her clients, be they individuals, organisations, large scale developers or government representatives. A key strength is Germaine’s ability to understand and utilise clients’ and colleagues’ strengths so as to capitalise on these for successful transactions and positive relationships.
Germaine holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts (Double Major Psychology) from University of Queensland. Approximately 13 years of Germaine’s working career was property work in NSW, although since 2016 she has obtained comprehensive property experience working in the ACT. Germaine joined BAL Lawyers in January 2020.
