Ellen applies a people-centred approach to her practice and understands the profoundly personal nature of employment law matters for both employees and employers alike. She uses a pragmatic and holistic style when tackling workplace issues, and enjoys achieving practical and long-term solutions for her clients. Ellen has a particular interest in human rights and discrimination law and has experience with APS code of conduct matters.
Before joining the BAL team, Ellen worked in the executive search practice of a specialist legal recruitment firm, where she supported assisted recruitment processes placing Executive and Senior Executive officers across a range of government departments and agencies. This experience gives her unique and firsthand experience in government HR policies and procedures and a solid understanding of the Public Service Act 1999 (Cth).
Ellen was admitted to practice in the ACT Supreme Court in October 2021 after joining BAL’s Employment Law and Investigations team as a Law Graduate in May 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Communication in Public Relations from the University of Canberra.
