Riley is originally from Las Vegas and he holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Riley’s Master’s Thesis ‘How we complain: The effect of personality on consumer complaint channels’, was subsequently published in the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research and awarded Thesis of the Year for UNLV. Riley had a successful career in hospitality in both the United States and Australia, including awards from the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and AHA ACT “Spirit of the City” cocktail award in 2017. Riley obtained a Juris Doctor from the Australian National University in 2018. Riley joined the firm as a Law Graduate in January 2019 and was admitted to practice in the ACT Supreme Court in February 2019.

Riley practises across the areas of Business, Commercial and Real Estate Law with an interest in hospitality. He advises clients on a wide range of matters including licensing, corporate governance, business acquisitions and disposals, contractual drafting and disputes, intellectual property, privacy law, the purchase and sale of commercial real estate, commercial leasing, and residential tenancies. His client base ranges from private companies and individuals to co-operatives, associations and industry peak bodies.
