Laura practises in the commercial litigation, local government, planning and environment teams. Laura provides advice on a range of issues, including: contractual claims, commercial disputes, building and construction disputes, negligence claims, debt recovery and enforcement, bankruptcy and insolvency for private and government entities.

Laura’s experience includes the conduct of planning appeals in the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal for large scale developments together with commercial and equitable disputes in the NSW Supreme Court. She has experience in civil enforcement of breaches of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 in the Land and Environment Court.

As an experienced litigator, Laura’s knowledge of practice and procedure ensures that proceedings are commenced and conducted efficiently and effectively. Her experience involves obtaining, assessing and enforcing costs orders to secure maximum returns for her clients. Laura recognises that litigation is not the only option available to her clients and utilises dispute resolution processes to achieve outcomes without recourse to litigation where necessary.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University, where she focused on corporate, commercial and consumer law. Laura is responsible for a range of ACT matters on behalf of interstate firms.

Laura was admitted to practice in the ACT Supreme Court in 2013. She joined the firm in 2010 as a law clerk, before accepting a graduate position in 2012, and has experience working with the commercial litigation, employment and business teams. Laura became a Senior Associate in July 2017.
