Katie specialises in commercial and business law and regularly advises a range of private companies and individuals, insolvency practitioners, industry peak bodies, co-operatives, associations and local governments on a broad range of commercial issues. Katie has an in-depth knowledge of the establishment and commercialisations of business ventures including corporate governance, business structuring and ownership, Corporations Act requirements and succession planning. Katie has also assisted overseas entities establish Australian subsidiary companies to carry on research and development businesses in Australia and regularly provides advice on intellectual property law and drafts commercial contracts including manufacturing, distribution and services contracts, licences and development and commercialisation contracts.

Katie’s recent focus has been assisting private companies with major business acquisitions and disposals including the structuring, documentation and completion of those transactions and assisting Commonwealth and Local Government with their probity and procurement needs including advice, documentation and reporting. Katie’s analytical and problem solving skills enable her to provide practical advice to her client’s to achieve commercial resolutions in the best interests of her clients.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University and was admitted to practice in the Australian Capital Territory in December 2007. Katie joined Williams Love & Nicol (the predecessor of Bradley Allen Love) as a paralegal in May 2007, was appointed a solicitor in December 2007, was appointed a senior associate in February 2012, and was appointed as a Director in June 2016.

Katie has been a commercial law mentor for students undertaking their Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with the Australian National University’s Legal Workshop since February 2012. Katie is also a Board Member of SIDS & Kids ACT Incorporated, a Committee Member of the SIDS & Kids Ltd Risk & Governance Committee, a Member of Women’s Legal Centre and a Member of Women Lawyers Association of the ACT.
